Announcing the 2025–2026 Oregon APWA Scholarship Recipients

We are proud to announce the recipients of the 2025–2026 Oregon APWA Scholastic Foundation scholarships!

Since the program’s inception in 1981, our chapter has awarded 363 scholarships totaling $578,200 to students pursuing careers in public works fields such as civil engineering, wastewater management, and more. These scholarships not only honor past Oregon public works leaders but also engage our members in supporting the next generation of public works professionals.

Twenty-one scholarships totaling $43,000 have been awarded for the 2025-2026 school year at the following colleges and universities:

• Central Oregon Community College
• George Fox University
• Oregon Institute of Technology
• Oregon State University
• Portland Community College
• Southwestern Oregon Community College
• Umpqua Community College
• University of Portland

Oregon APWA Scholarships are making a real impact for students

“Dear Oregon APWA Chapter,

I was a 2019-2020 recipient of the Michael Lindberg Scholarship while I was obtaining my graduate degree at Portland State University. The scholarship helped me afford to finish school in 2020 when my graduate research assistantship was eliminated and my hours at my other jobs were cut during COVID. I now work for the City of Oakland Dept of Public Works where I oversee some waste reduction projects and programs, including implementing a citywide reusable foodware ordinance. 

I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the support in helping me get here.
