Salary Information: $32.53-$36.60 per hour, depending on experience.
Description: As an Engineering Technician, you will perform a wide range of advanced technical tasks critical to the construction, maintenance, and management of the county road system. You’ll work both in the field and the office, using your analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities to support Public Works operations.

Your work will include:
• Collecting and analyzing field data for roadway and infrastructure projects
• Managing data and inventory using GIS and AutoCAD
• Researching right-of-way and public land corners
• Reviewing, issuing, and inspecting roadway work permits
• Maintaining detailed engineering maps, plans, and drawings
• Assisting road crews with traffic control
• Providing responsive, professional assistance to the public
• Supporting other departments with engineering-related tasks
• Being available during emergencies as an essential worker

Qualifications/Requirements: Minimum Qualifications
To be considered, candidates must meet the following requirements:
• Education & Experience:
o A two-year degree in engineering technology or equivalent
o Minimum of two years of experience in engineering, land surveying, or GIS-related work
• Certifications & Licenses:
o Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
o Certification in Public Agency Work Zone Traffic Control
• Preferred:
o Registration in the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) in the State of Oregon within nine months of hire
