| Description: | The City of Oregon City is searching for our next Project Engineer, a key position in the Engineering Group of the City of Oregon City’s Public Works Department. The Project Engineer serves the public on a wide range of civil engineering functions but with a focus on capital improvement project delivery and some program management. The Project Engineer will report to the City Engineer and is located in the Public Works Department in the newly completed Engineering & Operations Center. The Project Engineer participates in a variety of engineering involving complex projects, in-depth studies, and development-related work. Provides research, plans, management, and designs of civil infrastructure, structural, and transportation engineering for construction and maintenance. Applies specialized engineering knowledge to solve design, maintenance, improvement, and construction challenges and problems. Serves as a contributor on various projects including land use planning, engineering plan review, and construction solutions.
The City has an Engineering Group that is comprised of Development Services, Rights-of-way and Construction Management Services, and Engineering Services. Currently, the City employs five licensed engineers in an overall Engineering work group that includes 13 staff. While we find all our staff have focus areas, we maintain a philosophy of teamwork and flexibility that provides all staff who are interested in professional development with the opportunity to take on work assignments outside of their focus area when it’s practical and possible. |
