What We Do
The Operations and Engineering Committee (Op/Engine) brings together public works operations and engineering professionals from across Oregon to foster collaboration, share best practices, and support delivery of resilient, equitable, and community-centered infrastructure. By connecting design and implementation perspectives, the committee strengthens outcomes across all disciplines of public infrastructure.
Why Our Work Is Important
Working in alignment with the Chapter’s strategic goals, Op/Engine bridges the traditional gap between operations and engineering—ensuring that the insights of front-line practitioners inform infrastructure design and that project intent carries through to day-to-day operations. Our work supports a unified approach to delivering infrastructure that is responsive to the needs and values of Oregon communities.
How We Work
The committee promotes intentional collaboration and statewide engagement through meetings, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, and information-sharing forums. Our efforts focus on co-developing solutions that strengthen the full project lifecycle—from concept and design through construction and operations.
Our Vision
A future where public works operations and engineering professionals are seamlessly aligned, working side-by-side to deliver innovative public infrastructure that is resilient, equitable, and reflective of the communities we serve.
