Stormwater Maintenance in Beaverton
Design and construction of storm systems often get attention, but the long-term effectiveness usually comes down to how well the system can be maintained. Municipal maintenance and operations teams have the most knowledge about how well these systems work decades later and also have tips on how to design better systems.
We’ve asked the City of Beaverton’s team to take us to one of their more interesting stormwater sites and show us what they’ve learned and discuss what works and doesn’t. The site that they’ve chosen includes an open-topped water quality vault with filter cartridges, with plenty of room for guests to see how the systems work (or don’t) and ask questions. Please join our Op/Engine committee and the City of Beaverton for a discussion and site tour focusing on best maintenance practices, lessons learned, and how we can improve future designs.
