You're invited to join us for an informative tour experience showcasing Beaverton’s newly on-line Stormwater Reuse and Purple Pipe System!
When:  2:00-4:00 PM on Thursday, February 20th, with networking event to follow
Where: 16500 SW Loon Drive, Beaverton, Oregon
The Beaverton Purple Pipe program is a new water system that utilizes treated stormwater for use in irrigation. The program has a water distribution component and a water treatment component. This tour will focus primarily on the Sterling Park Stormwater treatment facility which is expected to be completed in March 2025. We’ll discuss the pilot testing, installed treatment methods, Aquifer Storage and Recovery well overview, some of the systems and modes of use at the treatment facility, as well as the beneficial uses the water will provide (for both residents and natural habitats).
This tour will be led by the city’s Project Manager, Brian Diaz, PE. Brian has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Cal Poly Pomona, and a master’s in civil engineering from Texas A&M. He’s worked on water systems and other CIP-related projects in Texas and Oregon, and in a past life practiced geotechnical engineering in California as well as offshore for floating wind turbine anchor systems. Brian now lives in and works for the city of Beaverton, where he enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
Following the tour, we invite you to join us across the street for networking at The Hillside Pub (16305 SW Barrows Road) where you can engage with fellow professionals.
Please RSVP to Cedomir Jesic (cjesic@kittelson.com) or Tammi Connolly (tconnolly@beavertonoregon.gov). Due to popular demand, this event tour for February 20th is now sold out. We are working to schedule a second tour date. Stay tuned! (2.13.2025)
