Kittelson led the development of the newly published NCHRP Research Report 1043: Guide for Roundabouts that provides design guidance on all aspects of roundabouts and presents a contemporary approach to considering and implementing roundabouts.
The presentation will provide an overview of the new or expanded topics covered in the Roundabout Guide, including Intersection Control Evaluation, designing for pedestrians and bicyclists in a variety of separated and shared configurations, designing for trucks, multilane roundabout design, mini-roundabouts, traffic control devices, and illumination.
