This presentation will provide an overview of the recently finalized rulemaking by the United States Access Board for Public Rights-of-Way Accessibility Guidelines (PROWAG). PROWAG is a major component of the implementation of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), providing minimum technical specifications to make our streets and intersections accessible to and usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. This presentation will discuss some of the more significant changes implemented in the final rulemaking, as well as the implications that PROWAG is expected to have on our design and construction practices.
